This is a simple short pattern that I found in Burda magazine some time ago. It makes up super nice, and it’s perfect for such a bold print because of the slender vent pockets. It made up well, but i needed to supplement the instructions for the pockets. I’ve never made pockets with a vent before, so i needed visuals. Luckily, I keep a series of illustrated instructional books close to my sewing station for just such an occasion. This pair was actually my second attempt at this pattern, the first one I had to significantly decrease the rise because I’m only 5’3" and I wasn’t seeking a pair of high waisted shorts. This time I decided to keep the pattern as it was and it came up almost to my natural waist. If I make them a third time, which I probably will, i would make the waist band an inch taller.. The shirt is a pretty cool DIY thing. Put a long chainette fringe along the neckline of an existing tshirt and then cover where you sewed it on with gemstones and beads. i covered my stones in a lace and then surrounded them with tiny beads.
Cotton stretch sateen. One of my favorite fabrics. Bemberg pockets. Two cute buttons.
