I signed up for Gertie’s course on Craftsy and here you see the outcome. I really like how the dress fits and I’ve learnt a lot of cool tricks while making it. For the bustier I used the same fabric as for my more casual dress project.

Love it! You look great in this dress. I’ve found Gertie’s a great course with lots of new techniques to learn.

I love how you chose a fun print for the lining. I’m taking the class now and can’t wait to start my dress!

Wow, I’m inspired! I’ve signed up for the Bombshell dress course, too, but haven’t started it. It looks terrific on you and your craftsmanship is superb. BTW, your link to the class isn’t working:(

I love this, I am enrolled in the same class but have been putting it off for a while lol. I love the plaid you used for the bustier. I’m now inspired to start the class! Wonderful work, it looks fantastic on you.

Wow, a job very well done, I also love the couture details you made like on the hem. Since you got into this couture mood I can recommend a book I bought yesterday that I am thrilled about: Dressmaker’s Handbook of Couture Sewing Techniques (by Lynda Maynard). Info for Dutch members: I bought it in a Dutch translations, but I think the English version is better because some details were lost in translation (:)). greetings from Amsterdam

I love how you used two different fabrics for the top and bottom! If you make a jacket in matching skirt fabric (maybe the Starlet Suit Jacket by Gertie), you can wear it to the office and then take it off for a date or something. Very clever! I want to make one now!

Love it! I had dragged my feet on sewing this since I’m pretty small on top, but seeing your fantastic creation gives me renewed enthusiasm. Any advice for sewing changes that you made, or are they pretty much covered in the class? Thanks!

Making a muslin and adapting it so that it would fit you perfectly is the main thing here, I’d say. It’s all explained in the class. I also thought that this kind of dress may look hmm say funny on me, but since I wanted to learn some advanced sewing tricks I gave it a try. Can’t say that I regret :)

Great job! Did you use any boning on this version?

Yes, I did. But a bit less than recommended in the course because my fabric+underlining felt pretty stable

This is great. I haven’t done Gertie’s course yet because I didn’t think the style of dress would work for us less-endowed women (‘bombshell’ tends to imply a bit of cleavage!), but the cut looks fantastic on you.

Thanks! I don’t think you need a plastic surgery to wear a bombshell dress ;) I only had to adjust the pattern slightly.
