I used the tutorial at padawansguide.com to make an authentic Leia dress. I considered buying a costume at the store, but they were all very cheap looking and didn’t look like the dress in the movie. Luckily, I found the how-to online. I modified it a little big by putting a zipper in the back (my first zipper!). The dress only took a couple of hours to cut and sew and the belt took a few hours as well. I’m very happy with how it turned out (though I wish I could have found more fake hair to make bigger buns!)
