Again, I copied the pattern from a skirt in my wardrobe. it was very easy to make and for people who are Interested I will share the pattern on Burdastyl. It is not perfect because I am a beginner (my sewing lessons starts next week). I’m happy with the result!!!
Ikea fabric, cotton.

Love it! I am also a beginner and am yet to make a skirt. I will have a go and post the results. Thanks for the inspiration and keep up the good work!

I have made this skirt in my beginners dressmaking class. Toile version was a nightmare as lots of pieces to be hand sewn, but finished version in contrast panels ( black longer, black & white striped triangles) looks fab. Will post pictures as soon as I get it back.

Lovely! Well done. I love Ikea fabric…I have the bird one in a different colour. I now might make myself a skirt out of it. ;)

I wonder how hard it would be to size this pattern down for my daughter…. she’s a tall thin child… I think this would be a lovely holiday skirt.

That is so cute – good job! Looks like it would be pretty straightforward to line it too – as it’s starting to get chilly here in London now that Autumn (“Fall”) has arrived :)

There is a lining already in the pattern :-). Made my “chita” out of poly cotton and it was still quite heavy when I’d done. would be fab in lightweight denim for blighty I reckon. ( I live on the east coast, N.E. Lincs)

Oh my gosh – a little girl turned up to my daughters playgroup (in Australia!!) wearing a dress made from this fabric. I loved the fabric so much I wanted to ask where her mum got it from but I never got the chance ….. now I have my answer!! Ikea of course. Thanks everyone …..

Super cute! I have that same fabric, I am now debating if I should make a skirt like this for myself!

I have to agree with the comment that zozowahine made that for someone who has not had sewing lessons and considers herself a beginner, you did an awesome job on this skirt. To be able to obtain the style and fit that you achieved while making this cute skirt is telling me we want to see the garments you create after you’ve had some sewing lessons. One of my teenage granddaughters will be visiting me in a few days and I know she is going to love this skirt also. Keep up the wonderful job and thank you for sharing this with us
