This skirt is made of very soft and slightly stretchy fabric I can’t quite place – it’s like a superfine babycord which feels velvety to the touch. Enfin, it looked so gorgeous on the roll I had to have a skirt made of it.
The pattern comes from the Dutch magazine Knipmode issue 12/09. The bow is supposed to be made from self fabric but because of the patterned fabric it would not have been very noticeable. I found a lovely little piece of left-over gold velvet abd used that instead. To emphasize the lines of the pattern I also used contrast stitching on the front.
Pattern is suitable for many different fabrics, including heavier silks, light woollens, even denim!
