This top is a refashion of a maxi dress I’ve had for years, It was getting a bit old and worn out, but the skirt fabric was still fine so I decided it should be a new top. The last photo is the “before” – what the dress looked like before I cut it up.
The fabric is something unknown that is very stretchy and very slippery, so it was a real pain to work with. As a result there are some bits that are kind of wonky, but I’m OK with that. I’m also sad that there was a seam up the back of the skirt, so I’m stuck with an unneccesary seam on the back of the shirt, but hey, what do you want for free fabric? And as a bonus, I didn’t have to hem it since I could use the original hem!
