This is Megan Nielsen’s Kelly skirt. It’s a very quick make. I am a very slow sewer and I made this in one evening because I wanted to wear it out over the weekend! This is now available as a PDF on her website, yay! You can also get the print pattern, though.
I don’t own any skirts, really, so I was hoping this would go with a lot of my tops that would look good tucked into skirts. I’m not sure it works that well for that, honestly. I think it would be most flattering with fitted tops and not the looser, blouse-y ones that I have. Perhaps with a less stiff fabric?
I love this fabric! It’s a ramie/denim blend. I have no idea what ramie is but this denim looks really nice. It’s a little bit nubby and it has a nice sheen to it. I’m not sure the buttons I chose really suit the skirt but I couldn’t pass them up. I like how they catch light. I used actual topstitching thread for the topstitching and I like it. Woo.
1.25 metres ramie/denim blend, quilting cotton scraps for pocket lining.
