Description

A dress inspired by my childhood idea of what a dress should be. Pink, full skirted, polka-dotted, a sweetheart neckline with a bow, and hidden pockets (which I forgot to photograph).

The skirt portion was made with two layers, the pink fabric and a white cotton lining with a triangle trim, and gathered.

The top was based off of Miasu’s contour bust dress, but I modified the back so it wasn’t so low—more of a retro style, and altered the length.

I trimmed everything with white bias tape.

There are some problems with it, but for my first real sewing project, without any real pattern, I’m happy with it.

    I am so thrilled to see this project featured! It really is precious, I’m glad I could help your first dress come to fruition. It’s really incredible—I’ll admit heartedly that I’m mortified by my first attempt at a dress. Weirdly enough, I’m actually working on a dress right now that is really similar—with an awesome, full skirt! Anyway, I absolutely love your dress :)
