Especially cute ones like these!
I used the super versatile Simplicity 2227 again. I had to go two whole sizes lower because these shorts were way too big and because I used a stretch cotton. No changes to the pattern.
The fabric has subtle vertical lines that make these shorts go with basically everything and anything. You can dress them up or down; they go great with a casual tank top or a cute shirt and I love the fit. And so easy!

So cute! I love how you roll it up and added the buttons. I can totally see this can be worn in fall with tights too. :)

they are super cute, I really like the belt loops! can’t see how you close it, is there a zipper on the back?

Yup! I put the invisible zipper on the right side, which is what I usually do.

Is it difficult to fit shorts? I am thinking about making some soon, but am a little worried about trying to get the fit right.

Surprisingly, no. You just have to make sure you know your measurements and double check the ease on the pattern pieces. I often measure existing shorts and then measure the pattern pieces to pick the right size. As I mentioned before, I went two sizes down but that’s because I used a stretchy material and the sizing was big. However, by using a smaller size, they ended up being slightly shorter than I prefer (but I like longer shorts). Just measure properly before choosing your size.

Great job! I showed my daughter and she wants them too, so we just bought the pattern. Very inspiring…

Thank you! Nothing more flattering than someone wanting to make the same item. And bonus: it was so easy :) . Hope your daughter loves them!
