Burda Style For people who sew
Description
My own wedding dress, designed and constructed in 6 weeks for our special day.
I used a base pattern for the basic shape but designed my own bodice shape based on inspiration collected during the planning stage.
I wanted a funky lining so sourced white.black houndstooth fabric for the lining which I hand dyed blue, I also made my husbands tie from this houndstooth fabric. Tulle was layered over satin for the skirt with draped tulle on one side of the bodice and draped satin sweeping across the other, Finished with a low cut back and hand made fabric flowers. I also made my bouquet out of fabric flowers.
Material Notes
Snow white satin, white bridal tulle, houndstooth lining hand dyed blue.
