Description

This was the first dress I’ve made unassisted! Having just returned to sewing for the first time since high school I started with this retro mcalls pattern and am super happy with the way it turned out – keeping in mind I ended up making and un-picking the entire thing 3 times over!
I used a beautiful quilting fabric which admittedly, may be a little heavy but i fell I love with the pattern and colour so I used it regardless.
This is the perfect girly tea dress and i just adore the shape and the full full skirt- I already have plans to make it again in red!

Hi Guys, thanks so much for all the compliments – they gave me goose bumps! After a little digging through the pattern box it found it! Its actually a Retro Butterwick #B4792. Its out of print but can be found on the Butterwick website with a limited few still for sale. Tip – just check on ebay (where I got it) there’s quite a few making the rounds ;) x x M

Wow – this is gorgeous. Haven’t been on the site for ages and this really stands out. Totally with the others – any chance of finding out what pattern you used as I’m fascinated by the halter in front/slope in back contrast.

I’m with everybody else, though: what’s the pattern?

So pretty! I love the way the halter neck at the front blends into the back. If you saw the two photos individually you’d be forgiven for thinking they were different dresses.

Also, I’m going to chime in with lefeverna – any chance you could tell us what pattern you used?

Beautiful- I love the design, the fit and the material. I think that many of the intersting fabrics are quilting material. This dress would look fantastic in red. Well done – I like your other dresses too.
