Description

I was really terrified of making my own dress for my sister’s wedding, but after long long shopping trips, I just didn’t find anything I really like.

Once again: simplicity and elegancy, the winning combination! You’ve done it again!

I have only one additional brother, and he’s 23… No weddings soon I think. Well, I can still sew plenty without having a special occasion… And anyway, I have more to learn before I am really good so that’s fine with me. You know that dress on the cover of the March 2010 magazine? Strapless, with the boning? I already bought beautiful paisley jacquard fabric for that. I haven’t ever made anything with boning. For now, though, I am making other stuff, before I get to that dress…

I was planning to make that dress too. It is so beautiful!
Well, I made a corset with boning about two years ago for a Wonder Woman custom. It will be easy for you, so… get started :-) I want to see the result!

Beautiful dress, and you look very comfortable in it. It’s funny, I joined this site because I plan to sew myself a dress too (for my brother’s wedding in 3 months)… You really inspire me!

Thanks! have you got anything in mind? I was really happy after I succeeded to do it. Just to be a little less scared of doing it, I went to a private teacher and she helped me with the fitting. When I get married I’m sure going to make my own dress :-)

Don’t understand why i can’t reply to your reply. Yes, I plan to make the yellow Degrade dress from the latest Burda. I already have the fabric, but since it cost a small fortune, i plan to make a test first with another fabric, until i feel that my mojo is back…

I also made a test before I started this one, and now this “test” is one of my favorite dresses. It’s a knee length, and made of cotton jersey. The sash is denim in contrasting color. I should actually post a photo of that dress….
The yellow dress is beautiful! Are you going to do it in yellow as well?

The dress is gorgeous and you look beautiful! I like your makeup. Great job on making a dress by yourself for such a big occasion! I thought I would do the same but my smart-ass brother got married overseas and there was no actual wedding celebration to go to… I wonder where you got that necklace. It looks like something I have, from Noa’le, which is the daughter of someone who goes to the ceramics class I go to.

Thank you! Do you have other sisters/brothers who expect to get married soon? My cousin has engaged lately so I’m already planning the dress for the occasion. The necklace is from a designer in Neve Tsedek whose name I can’t remember…
