Description

This is one of the first projects in my attempt to learn how to sew. George is a good friend who happens to be a perfect size 12 in this pattern. How lucky was I to make a dress for her that didn’t need any alterations. In return, George took me out for lunch so she could wear her new dress. I think it suited her perfectly. The pattern is burda 8319, easy. I have an excellent and patient teacher who helped me and also owns the shop where I purchased the fabric http://www.lisasdesignerfabric.com.au/ on the Gold Coast. This site inspires me enormously. I love how people will upload the simplist of creations with as much enthusiasm as the likes of the more advanced and humble sewers in this group, which I am sure we all know who they are. Thank you to everyone for helping me with my new adventure in life.

The dress turned out fabulous. I bet your friend George loved it-as it really suits her. The color is great with her coloring and the cut of the dress is very classy and professional looking. Great job!

Thank you Tiffany. I guess I was lucky it worked so easily for George. The colour no doubt varies with people’s computer screens but it is a gorgeous green. This is my favourite project so far. I watch your site with great enthusiasm. So many clever sewers on this site.

This dress is lovely and if Amanda is your teacher at Designer Fabrics at Southport, you couldn’t have a better teacher. Her shop is the best fabric shop in SE QLD.

Thank you schnui, and Amanda is my very patient teacher. I too love her fabrics and Amanda is always ready and willing to help with ideas of what to make. I’m so lucky I stumbled on this shop and the friendships of Amanda and Rhonda. Maybe we might meet one day.
