I made this dress for my cousins wedding. I bought the fabric a year ago and just love it! I made a stain sash for it and used a net underskirt, which I bought on etsy to poof it out a bit. There is also an invisable zip in the back (nightmare!!) I used the basic bodice pattern from Burda and drafted a half circle skirt pattern for the bottom. I’m prretty hapy about how it turned out – I know where the mistakes are and I hope no one else notices!! It’s my second dress, but the first I can wear in public :) – Sorry the photos aren’t great
2.5m Cotton fabric
Black Crepe back satin
20" invisable zip

I love it! Totally ladylike and figure flattering =) Did you alter the basic bodice pattern or it already has that neckline?

Thanks! I just realised I attached the wrong pattern, the bodice was based on burda pattern 5/2011 A-Line Dress #108B, for some reason I cant attach this now. I added 1cm to the lenght of the bodice which I thought was strange because I have a short body! I kept the same neckline

I love vintage patterns – if only I could get away with underskirts and little ladylike gloves on a day to day basis!!

Very cute dress! It looks great with the underskirt, and I love the brooch on your shoulder. It really gives the dress a little something extra!
