This dress was created using a Vintage Vogue (5028) pattern, which I dated back to the early 1960’s. I just used the bodice and added a self drafted, gathered rectangle skirt. I added a little belt to break up the colour. Isn’t it just adorable with the bow at the back?!
I am in love with this pattern and I have been using the bodice for quite a few of my -projects lately
(pictures to come)
So, a little while ago I was challenged to a Sewing Dare . My challenge was to create a dress suitable to wear to an interview in anticipation for any I may be invited to as I start applying for jobs to become a teacher (fingers crossed!) Graduation is just around the corner and I am very excited, but very busy also, and it was a real treat to be able to take some time out and complete this sewing dare. I am so pleased with the finished product. I have gone for colourful yet professional, whilst still keeping in touch with my personal style.
What do you think? would this dress be appropriate to wear to a teaching interview?
