I found this fabric in Los Angeles for $1.50/yard. It is a navy blue sheer fabric with metallic gold thread and tiny little black velvet polka dots. When I say that description to anyone they usually make an “ick” face because that does sound really awful, but it’s actually quite beautiful.
I used the Anda pattern. I had to line the dress so I hacked the top of the Anda Dress into a sweetheart on the front and back bodice. I also drafted and added flounces to give it a more 40’s feel. The lining was made from left over fabric I had. I am very much in love with the way it all turned out."Judith E.Hoover": http://www.jehoover.com
