Burdastyle #119 from 03/2011. High-waisted tapered trousers with side zip & welt front pockets. I made these trousers for Daughter No1, which meant I had to shorten them considerably, and take them in even though I use the smallest size. I omitted the zips at the hem, they really weren’t necessary & would just get in the way as she intends to wear these with boots all winter! The fabric is a beautiful English wool with a red windowpane design. From a distance it appears to be an olive green colour, but the ground is dark grey with mustard! You have to look closely to see it, to be honest. I love the way they fit, Daughter No1 is very pleased with the result. I bound the hems & the lower edge of the facings with bias cut lining to match the lining used in the pockets. Definitely making more of these! Tha jacket, if you are interested, can be found here
