Inspired by the kids’ pajamas in Pita-Ten, this would be a lot cuter on a little kid, but I made one for me, because it’s very warm and easy to sleep in. It’s just a cape with the front sewed up, sleeves added in and (of course) bunny ears. You could also make furry ones, with maybe cat ears and a tail, or bear ears, perhaps? It used to have pompoms on it and all sorts, but I found it easier to sleep in a streamlined version. You will notice it’s a bit grubby from being slept in- that’s the drawback of a pastel colour like this.

That is great! Maybe you could do a tutorial because I would love to make one for my nieces!

Unfortunately difficult, as I modified a commercial pattern to make it. In brief, though, I took a pattern for a cape and cut some sleeve holes in it, set in some sleeves and sewed it up the front. The rest is up to you- this thing really is a blank canvas. I put bunny ears on mine, but you could do cat ears or bear ears and make it in different colours. I think the primary concern is it being comfortable, though, so if you were going to make it out of fur you’d have to line it. This is just fleece, so it didn’t need lining. Pompoms, embroidery, sequins- it’s up to you. I think if I had nieces and nephews I’d be making these all day long, but I just slouch around the house in this.

It’s gorgeous! How did you get the ears to stand up?

Doubled the interfacing and pulled the ears through the hood a bit so there were loops on either side of my head. This also gives the hood a nice shape.
