One of my cousins was due with her first child in March and of course I knew had to make something for the baby boy-to-be. I had never made a baby blanket/quilt, but made up my mind I was going to make one anyway. I’m all about trying new sewing projects, no matter what the difficulty. I found this great baby blanket tutorial over at Tie It With A Bow and forged on. Surprisingly the whole process went easier than I was expecting and the blanket turned out so adorable. For my newest baby cousin’s blanket I used cotton for the squares from Hancock Fabrics and Joann Fabrics, a light green minky from Joann’s (?, I believe), and a package of turquoise-y blue satin blanket binding for the edges. You can also find a link for a great tutorial for binding that I used on my blog.
