Made using the Karl Lagerfeld designed skirt pattern no 136 from Burdastyle magazine 10/2010 out of black gabardine.
I made a few modifications:
added about 12cm in length
In lieu of the gathered elasticised waistband specified in the pattern (I loathe elasticised waistbands with a passion…) ; I modified the back waistband to be fitted to my waist measurement, and folded and sewed two box pleats (7cm long) in the two skirt backs to deal with the skirt fullness
Made the pockets big enough for an actual adult’s hands…
LOVE this funky little skirt pattern!
I have a review of this pattern on my blog here
black gabardine, dress zip, 4 buttons, 2 snaps

I loved the skirt when I first saw it in the magazine. Love yours even more because it has a length I actually would wear and still looks fabulous!

Luckily I read this before I tried to make it. It wasn’t planned unti late autumn anyway! Looks cool, I would still make it shorter . You are too modest, this is definitely difficult. I like your photos, they are so… Lagerfeld :-)

I looked straight past this skirt in the magazine. The proportions just didn’t look right (sorry Karl). What a transformation with a bit of length. Kudos to you.
