Description

for the latest installment of oona does it!, i turned to another burdastyle petite pattern.

marmota and tanit-isis both offered inspiration for this challenge!

i did away with the button closure (mainly because i couldn’t make heads or tails of it), used chiffon instead of jersey, pleats instead of gathering, and after making the drawstring belt, decided my own leather one looked better. i used leather applique on the yoke… far more about that and the whole horror story right here!

    your blog post was hilarious :D as for the dress i like the pleats better than gathering if only for the stripes. the stripes look really cool pleated like that. and i like the way the belt picks up the color of the gold chiffon.

      heheh, thanks! now that you mention it i think that’s why i chose this belt with it— it just livened up the dress tho i didn’t really think about why/how. really, i wanted to wear a belt wide enough to hide the mangled birds!
