Hello Dears!
I’d like to share my newest and most favorite (so far) bag that I made from a jacket which I found in the thrift store. I also made a tutorial, in case you want to make this bag (it’s not very hard to make – trust me :)
Blogged on my blog
The TUTORIAL is here, on my blog
(please excuse me for not uploading it directly to Burdastyle, but it would have taken too long :)

Your refashion leatherbag looks great too! :D And the tutorial is great! I might do that when I find another ugly leatherjacket! :)

Thank you for a nice comment. Even though I’m very flattered, I don’t think it’s talent – it’s more of an effort :)
My sewing machine is probably the most simple (and cheapest) bernina: bernina bernette E55 (3,5 years old)

Wow, that really does look suede-y. ;D Great choice for a bag! (Maybe even better for a bag than a jacket? ;) Since I’m not a fan of polyester jackets, myself…)

Oh, and I should have said: Love that zipper detail! (Apparently I like to comment about zippers lately…) Very, very cool!

Thank you :) Not only does it look suede, but it feels like it, too. My friend and I had a little discussion until we figured what kind of material it was :D

So there IS such a thing as a useful polyester fabric! ;)
BTW — congrats on having your bag featured on CraftGawker. ;D

Thank you :) Alcantara was amazing material to work with, but unfortunately I haven’t seen any in fabric stores…

Like the square shape: really a great idea. Is it suede or fabric?

Thank you :) The tag on the jacket said it is a fabric called alcantara (something from polyester), but I personally never heard of this fabric before, so I had to google it :D
