I recently made a very fluffy petticoat , which required skirts to go over it. This is the first, but will not be the last. I used a vintage tutorial posted by Casey’s Elegant Musings, which was simple and fun, although the zipper-insertion info was a bit rudimentary. The only remotely tricky part was getting the hem even, as circle skirts will stretch out on the bias portions.

The material is a very odd suit-weight, herringbone wool, with a random pattern of swooshes printed overtop in sparkly black paint that melts and sticks to things when you press it. I used woven interfacing in the waistband and horsehair braid in the hem.
