I made this Simplicity 4608 vintage 1940’s blouse as part of Colette Patterns Spring/Summer 2012 Palette Challenge. I used vintage cotton shirting I found in my grandfather’s attic and buttons from a stash I got from a hoarder. So it was a remarkably thrifty blouse, all things considered!
The construction was relatively simple, all things considered, though blouses always involve lots of pieces. No darts, but a lot of tucks and gathers to create a loose blousy fit. I like it! Very comfortable.
In the future, though, I would shorten the sleeves. They are a trifle long, truth be told.

Wow! How can you be so fast? You seem to make a new garment every day! And they all look so nice, I love the blouse and I think it is one of the best garments you made!

Oh, thank you! Ha, I don’t sew this fast, I just save things up and then photograph and post them all at once. But I do think this blouse is very nice, and it’s certainly one of the best things I’ve made so far!
