I made this dress using Simplicity 7341 from 1976, in a lovely Japanese double gauze. It has a belt which ties in a bow at the back and – more excitingly – pockets! More details on my blog, Tilly and the Buttons.

Wow! So cute! And I think I actually have this pattern, too; inherited from an aunt. Now I want to make it!

It’s lovely, I like the way you wear it with the necklace and everything. Very nice!

this is wonderful! i take it the second photo is of a fancy stitch on your machine that you found a use for? i love it when that happens. i’m very much a straight stitch kind of a girl, but sometimes it just works!

Oo-hoo how CUTE! What a wonderful fabric! I need to search for lovely prints like that. Or maybe I’ll just go to Japan and get it myself :)

Very pretty! How difficult was it to sew? I would love to try and put together the long version of it, but am afraid that I am not skilled enough….

Thank you! It was fairly straightforward, not too many pieces, and the only intermediate parts were the gathering at the waist and the zip.
