I am a sucker for lurex! This was a baggy sweater, unworn but with a bleached stain (I wonder how that happens all the time?)
I cut off the bottom (made a cute little skirt) and gathered the top lightly in the back; on the front as well, but only under the breasts, to kind of mold the fabric. Worked quite well with the stretchy knit and is almost invisible.
Added a strip of very stretchy cuff fabric (ribbed cotton knit) in the waist and on that I put the skirt. If I remember correctly, I took a rectangle with the desired measuments (hips and length) , gathered it in the back and made a box (?) pleat in the front.
Serged the side seams and finished it off with a slightly gathered doubled strip of fabric-hem to get a cocktail dress tulip shape kinda thing.
