Mc Kinney, Texas...
I saw a similar skirt in a Nordstrom catalogue and thought I would try my hand. The gathering is a little more loose than it is originally supposed to be as I did not want a “sexy” skirt for a 9yr old. It is an 80’s inspired look and I love the way it turned out. For an older person I suggest a little tighter and therefore little neater look. Basically what I did is cut the panels gather the mid sections on each side made a “liner skirt” with elastic and attached the two together. Waistband was a little tricky. If I could change it I would use the large black elastic bands for the waistband and be done with it. The print was the very small floral prints. The Nordstrom catalog had darker (fall inspired) colors paired with leggings and boots another pic had it paired with a tunic tank like top. Enjoy!
