You’ve got to love Ikea for it’s bold prints. This dress was vaguely based on Angela Kane’s pinafore dress. Because of the print I didn’t want to continuely break it up by doing a seam at the waist so I omited that and made the dress in 3 pieces, with elongated darts (not quite sure what you call them). I also added a vent at the back just because I have a tendency to split slits. I used a green zipper and added some pink cord elastic to make it easy to zip up the dress, as I have an injury to my shoulder and back zips hurt me to zip up. I also added in seam pockets. And finished off the hem, neckline and armholes with binding. Oh and I added several inches to the length.

I’m still trying to get the nerve to wear it to work, as it might just be a bit too fun for the boring black wearers at work.

Oh, that’s easy! Instead of wearing a top under it, try wearing a black or green shrug or little cardigan over it! That should tone it down enough for the bores…
