The bump is still hanging in there, but I’m sure it will be any day now. This was a polyester chiffon, but I now feel confident to move onto silk if I see the right fabric. The pattern made things easier as the lining (a white polyester georgette) was basted to the main fabric and sewn into the seams together on the bodice. It was only on the skirt that I was sewing single layers together. Hemming it was one of the main difficulties as the method suggested in the pattern was very time consumming. Then I remembered my hemming foot. I have never had much luck with it before but I practiced this time until I got the hang of it.
I hope this is useful.

Congratulations on the “bump” :) How do you work with silk chiffon? I’m always afraid not to be too sheer, or what did you use as lining?

Like very much your dress, the chiffon is beautiful. I would like to know too from what pattern you sew this beauty?? I’m looking for something very long (to the floor, maybe make this pattern a little longer) but sommerlight…

The Pattern is an Anna Sui one, Vogue 2940. If I find a silk chiffon that I fall in love with then I might tackle it again.

This is so beautiful! What Pattern did you use? This dress will look great, especially holding a new family member! ( I am assuming that that is what the bump is all about :)

This is beautiful! I love the fabric. I did a whole collection using French seams and have come to love them. You’re right, its not that difficult if you are patient and determined!
