Description

Aah winter.. what does one do when it’s cold and one has the flu? Sitting around on one’s bee-hind and idly twiddling one’s fingers just doesn’t seem to fill the void.. The answer is, of course, crochet!

Here is a pair of red 60’s inspired fingerless “driving” gloves I made. Traditionally, these little babies would be made of leather, but I had a more practical idea in mind. I used wool that was laying in wait in a big bag. They feature adorable little baby blue vintage buttons. The most annoying part was, as always, weaving in all the loose ends.

I made a couple of pairs, and an odd glove as well, as part of experimenting with sizing. However, in the end I’m very happy with how these turned out. I gave the other pair to a friend :)

I love them! Is it your own pattern? I’ll check out the etsy shop, and maybe this’ll be the winter hit!

Thanks :) I haven’t uploaded the, to etsy yet, but check in the next 2 weeks. If you’re interested in a customised pair (u can put a preference in for colours etc) I’ll be more than happy to make some for you :)

BTW, I adapted a found pattern, widening the finger bits so they’re a bit more comfortable to wear. The original pattern was too tight at the fingers, even in a large size.. odd..

Cute :) And the will be perfect for next fall. I notice a good handful of designers were showing gloves on the runway.
