This is another shift dress of mine (I admit I have a little obsession) however this time I have managed to get the fit perfect! I have added a low v-neck with an oversized peter pan collar. The black bows at the waist actually act as buttons, as I have added two rounded straps that begin at the zip, which runs down the centre back, to act as a belt. This however cannot be seen clearly on the photograph.
This is the first pattern I have drafted myself from scratch with a little help from my Metric Pattern Cutting book by Winifred Aldrich.
The book was on my reading list for university however I have only just opened it and it is fabulous! It instructs you on how to draw out pattern blocks from scratch for a vast amount of garments.
