Last week, I made my jacket for fall and it was summer outside, today i finished a summer dress and it seems to be fall outside…This dress was made with a butterick pattern (#4513). I shortened the skirt and lenghtened the bodice. The sewing was more than easy, it was done in just three hours (except the hem). It has elastic in the back and a simple belt.
For this kind of dress you definitely need a petticoat. So I made one. It is made of one layer from simple white fabric and one layer of tulle. The tulle was much more stressful than the whole black dress ;) After I defeated the tulle, I “only” had to hem 16 m with bias tape…
cotton, bias tape, tulle

So beautiful! I totally love the style of this dress and the ribbon at the neck line is the interesting point. So cute!

Lovely dress! The petticoat definitely makes it stand out (pun intended)!
