I made this for my shop, so it’s reversible. The blue side is made with taffetta and is a full circle. The white side is lace and is gathered, so it’s like a built in petticoat. Closes with snaps. I wanted to roll the hem on my serger but after trying twice I realized that it just wasn’t going to work. The strange thing is my Juki serger did beautiful rolled hems when I first got it. I took it in twice since then and neither time was the repair guy able to make it work like before. I don’t go to him anymore the dude totally jacked me…but anyway what was I talking about? Oh yeah the skirt, it came out OK, another experiment. I do love these photos though.

I’ve been moving more toward old style techniques lately that don’t require these modern machines. The take longer but the results are so much better.
