I made this dress using Butterick B6582
I wore it to a 50’s themed baby shower at a drag queen show (that’s right)!
I followed the pattern exactly and used my measurements. It was way too big. I had to tighten at arms, waist, and bust. Waist was the biggest, I think I had to take it in about 3 inches.
I made the belt with a simple bow and added 2 sew on snaps.
I styled with a tea length petticoat, nude pumps, pearls, and a beehive. I put a little bow into my beehive at the last minute.
This also double great as a Stepford wife costume.
Stretch sateen green and white floral print (it was very thick) I recommend something thinner as I was sweating under all that and the petticoat in Florida’s heat. I got this from Joann’s

I am about to have a baby shower and now I’m wondering why no one offered to throw me a 50’s style shower at a drag queen show!?! Lol! I would love that! Your dress looks amazing!

Thank you. It turned out more Hawaiian than I was intending, but Hawaiian prints were big in the 50’s…so it worked.
