I saw a vintage dress that was fantastic but because of the 40s sizing couldnot get anywhere near fitting into it….so i made this, a bit similar, from stretch crepe.
It has a collar and hidden buttons up the front
drafted the pattern by using a shirt style for the top and half circle skirt for the bottom

Nicely styled (a dress! with buttons! and sleeves!) – this is the sort of thing I look out for in charity shops, no ‘vintage’ but just flattering.
A pity black never photographs well :(
Maybe I should try the same thing – combining a blouse and skirt pattern….

Old sizes were tighter than actual ones, isn’t it? In these hot hot days I am struggling to enlarge a vintage number I bought last month… usually I have to do the contrary! And, by the way, great fit and nicely styled with belt and bag! Good work!

Stunning – I’m so jealous you can pull off this style! The skirt is especially sweet, and the dress fits you like a glove!
