The materials for this project were entirely free—my neighbors were throwing out the silk I used for the lining, a student gave me the tweed, and a friend’s boyfriend donated the leather buttons. Based on McCall’s M5759, I cut the sleeves to 3/4 length.

Very resourceful…and it takes confidence to use mismatched leather buttons. Congrats. I should do that with my leather buttons. I’ve a bunch that don’t quite match….
