Once upon a time, I was given 200 floppy disks. And, since I don’t actually own a computer that still uses them, I put them to a different use – I trimmed a skirt with the colorful disks! I made the base skirt out of a Goodwill sheet that I hand dyed navy blue; it has an exposed zipper down the back. The skirt is a simple short pencil skirt. I hand stitched the floppy disks to the skirt – it was more difficult than you might think! The last picture is a bit blurry, but it gives you an idea of how the skirt moves.
I paired it with my Tin Foil Top for a fashion show that focused on sustainability. This garment was in the “recycled materials” section and makes a fun sound when you walk! It is a bit difficult to sit down in….
