Another modified shirt designed for Christmas 2009. Initially, I was looking for a great plaid with christmas colors, but ended up with another gingham print. This brown and white gingham had a beautiful pink stripe threaded along the selvaged edge of the fabric, so I decided to use pink as a contrasting color. I also used the selvaged edge on certain parts of the shirt for a great detail. I was also inspired by a shirt tagged in my “favorites” album on Burda style – the modern safari shirt and decided to put an additional layer (armor) over my left chest with the pink contrasting fabric behind. Additionally, I made the collar where as you can where it 3 different ways; buttoned to either side with straps and bottons to hold it in place or the collar can hang below. For fun, I always thought it would be cool to have in-seam pockets in a male tailored shirt, so I added some for function. They are great! Being my first time modifying a pattern, I think it came out beautiful. I received a lot of comments Christmas day. Enjoy!
