So on a Friday night around 8, I went to Joann’s and fell in love with this red and blue striped jersey knit fabric. With never making much for myself, I was a little nervous to tackle my first dress with such a bold print, I definitely didn’t want to look like I was part of the circus ;) But I did it and finished up at 3 AM, hence, my 3 AM dress! It’s far from perfect, and I couldn’t seem to get an even gathering (with a regular foot) where the bodice and skirt meet…so take it easy on me :) I loooove the way jersey knit feels….but man, it’s not the easiest to sew. I used Dixie’s pattern, but didn’t follow any directions…that might have helped…ha. Please ignore the wrinkles in the back!! ;)

Thank you! It is a little scary sewing with jersey knit, but it’s the best once you get it done :) The way if falls and feels is worth the imperfections ;) Thank you for your sweet comment!!

I adore rugby like knits! The circustent danger is always lurking, but you dodged that bullet perfectly! I’m going to make myself some rugby stuff too :) Now I’m certain.

This is gorgeous! I’m quite jealous really, I tried to sew a striped jersey knit dress this weekend too and that ended in tears! Well done, I love the neckline!
