A student project for a LSF student.
This project encompassed design elements from several periods, echoing the foureau back of an 18th C gown, lapels from modern army mess kit, raw edge finishes again from the 18th C, sleeves from the 1940’s, and piping from all eras! It also used traditional and modern construction methods, from fusing and gluing to hand stitching and finishing. Fabrics range from modern mixed fibres to traditional wools from a company who (probably!) made Nelson’s uniform coat fabric!
Something for everyone!
Main fabric: silk/viscose mix twill Contrast: 100% wool Barathea for piping, 100% wool doeskin for facings Lining: Jacket: acetate twill lining, Skirt: polyester habotai. The skirt is also interlined with a wool and hair fusible canvas.
