On Saturday, my friend came to the markets with no shoes on. We planned to travel to visit her mum but she was concerned about going long distance without footwear… And the 20 minute challenge was born!
Since I had been weaving rugs and mats all day I had a number of scappy fabric pieces (mainly polo shirt collars) to play with. We cut these into thin strips and I proceeded to weave these into a pair of delightful colourful slippers.
My friend was delighted – especially since these didn’t fall apart!
This was a super fun project!

Such a super great idea! Wish I had a whole bunch of scraps laying around to use in such an inventive way

It’s funny cos it was unplanned, spawned out of necessity – my friend needed a pair of shoes.. i had scraps lying around.. 2 and 2 had to be put together! ;)

hehe.. i thought so too.. they were made out of necessity, which is more than we can say for most shoe acquisitions, i think ;)

i made them in quite a rush – just crocheted (single stitches) about 4 fat lines with a fatty fat fat hook :)
