Description

My very first project!! :) I didn’t use any pattern. I just came op with an idea, found some fabric from my grandmothers attic and started sewing. Inventing techniques while doing so…

I needed a small bag, but also one that was big enough to carry my books. So I came up with this changeable bag: you can either connect the hooks with the rings to wear it up (larger) or just let the top half hang down.
It’s got 2 zippers, so you can always reach in from the top. It’s fully lined and has a decorative bird on the front.
I’ve also put a pocket on the inside, which I only attached on 1 side. That way it is possible to pull it inside-out and still use the pocket when you change the way you carry the bag.

I wanted this pocket because when I carry the bag hanging down, I use the smaller part (hanging) to store my wallet and phone. With only a zipper underneath I found it a bit risky….

hmm…..I hope it’s possible to understand what I’ve done haha..

If you have any questions: please ask!!

very good project, I was searching for such a bag, and I will defintively make it. Can you give the measurements from the bag and zippers? Burda 7612 is almost same but complicated instructions and smaller in size

I’m glad you like it :)
You could make your bag any size you want. I just thought about the things I wanted to carry with it and based the dimensions on that.
      I made my bag 28 × 40 cm, it’s 28 × 25 cm when folded down.
The zippers are about the same length as the width of the bag.
But, as I said, you could make it any size you like. It might even be practical to base the size of your bag on the size of the zippers you want to use…?
      Have fun sewing!

      oh.. my bag in inches:
      about 11 × 16, and when folded 11 × 10

First project? Wow! It’s great, as soon as I learn how to put a zipper on, I’ll do it. :)
