1st Japanese Dress!

Ok, so it wasn’t technically my first dress as I made a prototype of Dress A & a mock up of Dress J with cheaper fabric. But,… this is the first one that I’m happy with & wearing out. I modified it by making the pleats a little bit longer down the front & lengthened it slightly.

Really happy with the project although deciphering all the little diagrams was a bit of a challenge (I don’t read Japanese!)

New skills I learnt – making pockets, setting in sleeves (tip: best done in the morning with lots of sunshine & not late at night when tired)

Material Notes

Used about 1.5m of stuff which I bought from the secret Liberty shop in South Kensington

Thank you for the great, supportive comments. There are some further photos taken on my phone (I was too excited & my proper camera was at home)
