My first ever top hat. Made using brown buckram moulded onto a hat block, covered in fabric. Hand-sewn for the most part aside from one seam and attaching hat wire.

Grey upholstery fabric (unsure of what specific type of fabric)
Double satin blue ribbon (3" wide)
Polka dot cotton ribbon ( 2cm wide)

It looks very nice!! Love the porka-dot binding and lining!! Did you use double or single buckram?? I have hard time molding double backram on hat block but single backram feels a bit too thin for top hats…

I used double buckram. It was quite difficult to mold, I just used a lot of drawing pins in the process and had the buckram quite damp. Other than that it was just a bit of muscle! Hope that helps!
