Description
I made this from a vintage pattern a friend gave me recently—McCall’s 7471. I didn’t think much of it when I set out to make it, but I ended up being really happy with how it turned out. It is made from all recycled/thrifted material. The black material is silk linen. There wasn’t quite enough for the sleeves too, so I cut up a linen shirt (which I had previously taken apart to make a pattern from). The buttons are salvaged from another thrifted shirt. I didn’t notice until I had started sewing that it was a maternity pattern, but I kind of like the tent shape of it! :)

I love that you used all recycled fabric. That’s something I’d like to incorporate into my projects.

So cute! I couldn’t believe it was an 80s pattern though, the 80s being known for huge shoulders and batwings. :)

thanks! …i think that it being from the early 80’s, it had some 70’s residue on it…i think the hypershoulders hadn’t yet appeared until the mid-80s.

Such a cute shirt. And it´s great that you made it with recycled material. The color mix makes it really interesting.

Waow that’s really great!,80s perhaps… the garment also has a 30s/40s flair to it. It guess the pull on/off makes it really 80s though…
