i made this dress using pattern from burda magazine
from the summer of 1979
..
i made some changes
dress supposed to have tucks on central bodice parts
(tucks were the reason i wanted to make the dress at first
but with this print, tucks just looked silly
so i never made them)
..
i made the dress from vintage nightgown
huuuge vintage nightgown, that i got from my friend
with stash of vintage fabric that belonged to her late aunt grandma
i loooved the print and color of that nightgown
and decided to refashion it
i cut it in half, and used lower part to make the skirt
(it has 7 pleats at front, and 8 pleats at back)
..
original burda dress was finished with bias tape
but i fully lined the bodice, since the fabric i used is a bit see trough
..
i also changed regular straps to cross back straps
..

Fantastic refashion! I can see why you used that old nightie for the dress, the print is just gorgeous!
