Description

I made this dress from denim chambray fabric. It has contrasting yellow top stitching and yellow buttons! While the dress was easy to sew (and is so comfy!), I’m not really happy with the results. I don’t care for the straight (described as “tubular” on the back of the envelope) fit and I think the below-knee length and shaped hem are awkward. I will probably end up shortening this significantly into a tunic top.

some 70’s cuts have an odd fit. but when i saw your first photo, i thought it was a tunic!! it would be so cute as one. maybe just shorten it but keep the slits and add some shaping darts in the back?? keep us posted!!!

I like it, the second photo looks nice… but I think you´re right about the shape. Maybe try taking it in on the sides and shorting it to the knee lenght first… That´s what I would do, you can always shorten it more… :) good luck! The fabric is very nice and the upper part is lovely!
