Description

My dearest brother-in-law turned 50 last week and held a party to celebrate. We were asked to dress Mod 1960’s, so I went shopping and found this fabric at Spotlight (not my favourite fabric shop but this time they helped me out). I made the dress using Burda #108 9/2012. I made a headband to match.
The party was wonderful and the band played songs that I knew all the words to. I must be getting old!!!

Material Notes

Cotton drill. And a 60’s button from my vintage button collection.

Very nice and a little jazz version of a really great pattern. You made a very pretty dress and I like very much the neckline!

Thanks for your kind comment. The only photos of me in it are on Facebook and I don’t know how to get them onto this site.

Lovely dress! Oh, I wish I had some of this fabric :) It’s always nice to sing in a party, so if you knew the songs – it’s jsut wonderful ;-)

Thanks Ellen. My sister will be 50 next and she wants an ABBA party and we all know the words to those songs, so that will be fun. I will now have to start planning that outfit!! I would send you some of the fabric but I know they have sold out at my local Spotlight. But if they get more, I will send you some.

Oh, I would love to join that party! :-) A few years ago we attend a 50 years birthday in Sweeden (a friend from Copenhagen) and we were singing and dancing to ABBA songs through the whole night! I do love these songs:) You are so kind – that’s so sweet of you to think of me.. I’m currently in Copenhagen, so I might find some similar :-)

That’s really cute. A mod dress with a modern twist.

Thanks Georgie. The invisible zip at the back wasn’t very Retro.
