Description

I used vintage Butterick 8197 from the 1950’s to make a pair of high-waisted shorts. I love the pin-up look they give my figure. at a future date I intent to make the bra-top as well to have a full vintage play suit. More photos and details can be found in my blog DapperDuds

Those shorts are super cute. I have been looking for a pattern just like that. Where did you get it? I also live here in Portland, so I would love to know where to cruise for vintage patterns.

I got this pattern at Josephine’s Dry Goods downtown. I think the box of vintage patterns I found them in was a one time fluke though. I really recommend you check out the Knitten Kitten for vintage patterns, fabric, and notions. It’s se 72nd and Glisan. She has HUNDREDS… it’s absurd.
