Description
This isn’t a typical BurdaStyle project, as it was all hand sewn. I found the pattern in one of my 1950’s magazines and used some leather I had in my stack. What a fun project! And I’m in ample time to perfect this for the next time winter comes around :-) For more information about the process, please visit my Blog Of Dreams And Seams

Thank you so much! I have several glove-patterns in my old magazines, but so far none for men. If I find one, I’ll let you know!

These are great. I want to make a pair. Please could you explain how you attached the bias tape? Thanks

Well, since everything is hand-sewn, it’s very simple. I actually used different techniques on each glove and can’t tell what’s better. On the first, I folded the bias over the edge and took a catch-stitch from the bias tape on one side (right in the fold), stitched over to the other side, took a catch-stitch there and so on… On the second one, I sewed the bias tape to one side (right side from bias faces right side from glove, stitching back stitches right in the crease), then I sewed the bias tape to the other side, right into the stitches from the first seam… Hope that makes sense?

Thank you! Not so difficult at all, or my first pair wouldn’t be causing such great reactions… :-)
